Brian Edward Thomas
Brian Edward Thomas, 80, of Wheelers Spring Road, Pamplin, passed away Saturday, March 12, 2022. He was the loving and devoted husband of Ella Louise Rosser Thomas.
Born in Baltimore, Md., on February 21, 1942, he was the son of the late Charlotte Hoppich Thomas Wagoner and Charles Riggin Thomas. He was a member of Memorial United Methodist Church. Brian served his country in the United States Air Force and obtained the rank of captain. He was a Virginia Tech graduate - an avid Hokie football fan who held season tickets for 43 years. Brian received the Boy Scouts of America Eagle Scout Badge, scouting’s highest award. He was a retired engineer with the Norfolk Naval Shipyard in Portsmouth.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his stepbrother, Forrest S. Wagoner, II, and wife, Gail; two stepsisters, Mary A. Whit and husband, Melvin, and Jane F. Ivey and husband, Mike; and a special cousin, Linda G. Irby and husband, William.
He was preceded in death by his stepfather, The Rev. Forrest S. Wagoner.
A graveside service officiated by Rev. Norman Ramsey will be held 3 p.m., Tuesday, March 15, 2022, at the Swan Family Cemetery, 3539 Swan Road, Pamplin, VA.
A reception will follow at the Swan family farm.
