Alvis Leonard Lawson

Alvis Leonard Lawson, 80, of Martinsville, Virginia passed away Sunday, March 13, 2022 at his home. He was born October 28, 1941, in Claudeville, Virginia to the late Alvis and Rosetta Niten Lawson. He had worked for Dupont for many years and was a member of Rich Acres Christian Church. He enjoyed motorcycles, yardwork and spending time with his three grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Christopher Lawson; brothers, Walter A. Lawson and Donnie E. Lawson.

He is survived by his wife, Rita McPeak Lawson; son, Randy Lawson; sister, Linda Quesenberry; brothers, James Lawson (Nancy), Kenneth Lawson (Pam), Bernard Lawson (Duane), Tom Lawson (Debbie), Carlos Lawson, R. Dale Lawson, R. Lee Lawson (Dawn) and David Lawson (Dianne); grandchildren, Alex Lawson, Reid Lawson and Gage Lawson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be held on Wednesday, March 16, 2022, at 1:00 P. M. at Rich Acres Christian Church with Minister Tim Hunt officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery.
