Doris Welch Mackey

Doris Welch Mackey, 89, of Roanoke passed away Sunday, March 13, 2022.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert Andrew Mackey; parents Floyd E. Welch, Sr., and Sadie Welch Hartman; and brother, Floyd E. Welch, Jr.
Doris worked in Real Estate Management for several years.  She enjoyed crocheting and flower arranging.
Surviving are her brother, Henry Welch and wife Jean; sister-in-law, Jessie Welch; special cousin, Carol Ann Andes; good friends, Annie Booze and Diane Duffey; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Friday, March 18, 2022 at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road.  Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Thursday at Simpson Funeral Home.  540-366-0707.
