Kathleen Theresa Reichard

Kathleen Theresa Reichard, 67, of Concord, NC, passed away on Sunday, February 6, 2022 after a hard battle with Covid-19. She is preceded in death by her father, Daniel H. Reichard, Sr. of Moneta, VA. Arrangements by Burch-Messier Funeral Home, Bedford, 540-586-7360. Kathy is survived by her mother, Joan Reichard of Lake Park, NC; brothers, Daniel H. Reichard Jr., (Shelley) of Madison Heights, VA, Steven Reichard (Dixie) of Little River, SC; sister, Sharon Reichard (Jeff Younce) of Lake Park, NC, and many nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her love and companion, Bob Accornero of Stanfield, NC. Raised in Madison Heights, VA, Kathy graduated from Holy Cross Regional Catholic School in Lynchburg and from Lynchburg General Hospital School of Nursing. She had been a Registered Nurse at Atrium Health Cabarrus (NC) since 1998. In her tenure she worked in the ER, in hospice care, and since 2008 in the Interventional Radiology department. Wherever she worked Kathy was treasured as an incredible nurse, an awesome colleague, and a patient and supportive mentor. Kathy was the heart of our family and the glue that helped to keep us close. Always thinking and caring for others. Her energy, light, love for life, creativity, beautiful spirit and giving heart will be treasured in our memories. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, April 30, 11:00 a.m. at Resurrection Catholic Church in Moneta, VA.
