Edward J. Thomas

Edward Junior Thomas, 70, of Martinsville, Virginia passed away Thursday, April 21, 2022, at SOVAH Health of Martinsville. He was born in Callands, Virginia to the late Flossie Thomas and Eva Witcher Thomas.

Edward was of the Christian faith. He enjoyed working with computers, and loved music, watching his favorite football team, Pittsburg Steelers play. Most important to him was spending time with family and friends. Edward was a very caring person.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughters, Tamika Preston, and Nierie Thomas; sisters, Gracie Thomas, Barbara Thomas, Olivia Thomas, and Shirley Ann Thomas; brothers, OJ Thomas, Lenwood Thomas, C.T. Thomas, Randolph Thomas, Alphonzo Thomas, and Jerry Thomas.

He is survived by his daughter, Laniqua Smith; son, Draizen Thomas; five grandchildren; Ebonie Preston, Kali Dandridge, Tmyia West, Juantae Dandridge, Jr. Naomi Dandridge; great grandson, Nyseir Preston Longmire; and a host of nieces, nephews other family and friends.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, April 30, 2022 at 2:30PM at Wright Funeral Service Chapel with Bishop Joe N. Gravely, officiating. The family will receive friends thirty minutes prior to service.
