Jean Ferguson Brown

Jean Ferguson Brown, 88, of Country Farm Road, Appomattox, died Thursday, April 21, 2022, at Appomattox Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was the wife of the late Marvin Whitney Brown.
Born in Appomattox County, on April 2, 1934, she was a daughter of the late Gladys Bryant and Willie Hopkins Ferguson. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church and retired from the Appomattox Garment Company.
She is survived by a son, Alton E. Lucado, Jr. and wife, Patricia (Tippy); four grandsons, A. J. Lucado and wife, Ashley, Adam Lucado, all of Appomattox, Kyle Lucado and wife, Julie of Lynchburg, and Tyler Lucado of Appomattox; and five great-grandchildren, Callie, Camden, Collyns, Macy, and Kylie.
A funeral service will be held at 2 pm, Sunday, April 24, 2022, at New Hope Baptist Church by Pastor Ron Moore. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service and at other times at the home of her son.
