Azetta Sone' Hairston

Azetta Sone’ Hairston, 17, of Martinsville, Virginia, passed away Saturday, May 25, 2024. She was born April 24, 2007, in Roanoke, Virginia, to Marcus Hairston (Lattarica) and Ayshly Martin.Azetta transitioned alongside her cousin, Jahnavia Sadee’Rose Hairston.Azetta was a rising senior at Martinsville High School. In her free time, she enjoyed finding recipes on Tik-Tok, and creating the dishes she would find while sharing the recipes with her friends. She enjoyed shopping, and eating out, specifically seafood or Mexican restaurants. She didn’t talk much, but when she did, she had a large personality. She is described as a little pack of dynamite. Azetta and Jahnavia were true best friends, often thought to be sisters. They were ride or die family in life and in transition.In addition to her parents, she is survived by her sister, Alana Hairston; her brother, Cameron Hairston; grandparents, Sadie Hairston and James Martin, Jr.; and maternal grandparents, Sonja Martin, and Don Draper.The memorial service will be held Saturday, June 1, 2024, at 3:00 PM at Martinsville High School.
