Barbara Allen Anderson Kern

Barbara Allen Anderson Kern, age 85, of 22643 Botetourt Road, Eagle Rock, Virginia died on Wednesday, October 30, 2024 at her residence.
Barbara was born on May 5 in 1939 to the late Samuel and Emma Trenor Anderson. She was a retired store manager for the former Family Dollar Store in Clifton Forge and was a former member of Bethel United Methodist Church. She attended Glen Wilton United Methodist Church and loved to watch the New York Yankees play ball.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, George, Shorty, Clayton, and Herman; three sisters, Delma, Ann, and Betty; five half brothers and sisters, Mike, Madge, Beverly, Jack, and Sharon; and a grandson, John Taylor Kern.
She is survived by her husband, John Bernard “Johnny” Kern, Jr.; two sons, Scott Clay Kern (wife, Flynn) of Louisa, and Kevin Todd Kern (wife, Sally) of Eagle Rock; a half-brother, Dale Anderson of Eagle Rock; five grandchildren, Brandon Kern, Samantha Kern (Jerry), Amanda Kern (Korey), Kevin Kern (Lori), and Jake Kern (Jessica); seven great grandchildren, Alexis, Carleigh, Kolt, Jake, Teagan, London, and Conner; a number of nieces and nephews; and special friends and caregivers, Sandy Smith and Beverly Pendleton.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2024 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with Reverend Ray Sandifer and Mr. Chris Fisher officiating. Interment will follow in Bethel Cemetery, Botetourt County. Pallbearers will be Jonathan Anderson, Daniel Anderson, Stacey Anderson, Brandon Kern, Kevin Kern, and Jake Kern. The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Nicely Funeral Home.
