Barbara Ann Bond Lupton
Barbara Ann Bond Lupton, 90, went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, March 11, 2026. She was the daughter of the late Leonard and Ruth Crawford Bond. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Billie Ruth Todd; brothers-in-law, Earl John Todd and Gary Howell Hackworth; a granddaughter, Melissa Ann Wertz; a son-in-law, David Journell; former husband, Edward Windell Lupton, Sr.
Barbara grew up in Norfolk County, VA, now known as Chesapeake and was a 1954 graduate of Deep Creek High School where her classmates recognized her as “most likely to succeed”. She held numerous jobs during her life but she was retired from Kroger after 25 years as the Deli Manager. Barbara was a member of Cave Spring Baptist Church where she was involved with the Social, Reception and Kitchen Committees. “Ms. Barbara” as she was known oversaw the maintenance of an efficient and pristine kitchen.
She will be missed and remembered by her children, Eddie Lupton (Becca), Kim Journell, Angie Reynolds (Lisa), Melanie Wirt (Bobby), Tracy Lupton (Hope); grandchildren, Ellen Reed, Michael Lupton (Ali), Sarah Nichols, Austin Nichols; step-grandchildren, Billy Journell (Patricia), and Emily Journell; great-grandchildren, Carsten Reed, Emery Lupton, Rosie Lupton, Andi Lupton; step-great-grandchildren, Preston, Amaya, Liam, Aly, and Natalie; a sister, Judy Hackworth; niece, Heather Taylor (Michael); nephews, Brian Hackworth, Jeremy Hackworth (Brittney); niece, Cheryl Todd; nephew, Kenny Todd (Jay); as well as numerous other loving family and friends.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 18, 2026 in the Chapel of Simpson Funeral Home, 5160 Peters Creek Road with Rev. Chuck Stanley officiating.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
