Barbara Ann Priddy Hodnett

Barbara Ann Priddy Hodnett, 88, passed away on Saturday, December 27, 2025, in Roanoke, Virginia. She was born on April 10, 1937, in North Carolina, to the late Paul Jones Priddy and Rachel Lou Nelson Priddy. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, James Phillip Hodnett; brothers, Norman Billy Priddy, Nelson Wayne Priddy, Carl Jones Priddy, and James Ronnie Priddy.

Barbara worked in the packing department at Tultex for over 35 years until her retirement. She was a member of Chatmoss Baptist Church and volunteered at the Martinsville Hospital. Outside of her professional life, she enjoyed tending to her plants and flowers, watching Young & The Restless and traveling – especially bus tours with her neighbor and close friend, Frieda.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Kingman at LewisGale Medical Center for his attentiveness, care, and compassion.

Barbara is survived by her daughter, Luann Pagans and husband, Bill; son, James Bradley Hodnett; grandchildren, Ashley Saum (Mitch), Austin Pagans, and Justin Hodnett (Hayleigh); and great-grandchildren, Lillie Gish and Barrett Saum.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made, in Barbara’s honor, to Chatmoss Baptist Church, 400 Chatmoss Court, Martinsville, VA 24112.

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at 1:00 PM, at Norris Funeral Services – Martinsville Chapel. The family will accept friends one hour prior to the service. A Burial will follow services at Henry Memorial Park in Bassett, Virginia.
