Barbara "Babs" J. Priddy

Barbara J. “Babs” Priddy, 65, of Bassett, Virginia, passed away on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at her residence. She was born on January 13, 1960, in Martinsville, Virginia, to the late Walter Cornett Jarrett and Margaret Byrd Jarrett, who survives her.

A proud graduate of Bassett High School, Class of 1978, Babs dedicated over 20 years of service as a school bus driver for Henry County Public Schools. She also served as a compassionate private caregiver.

In addition to her mother, Margaret B. Jarrett, she is survived by her brother, Robert A. “Bobby” Jarrett (Patricia); her niece, Crystal I. Brown (Kevin); nephews, Brian Jarrett (Cristiana), Sean Jarrett, David Jarrett, and Kevin Jarrett; great-nephews, Isaac Brown, Logan Brown, and Rivers Jarrett; great-niece, Paige Jarrett; aunts, Barbara Draper and Merle Byrd; as well as many other beloved family members and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 29, 2025, at Bassett Funeral Service Chapel, with Pastor David Westmoreland, Bobby Jarrett, and Pastor Jay Newland officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Roselawn Burial Park.
