Barbara Carter Kendrick

Barbara Carter Kendrick, 75, of Stanleytown passed away on Friday, January 6, 2023 at her home.  She was born on February 19, 1947 in Martinsville to the late Ellis Joseph Carter and the late Macie Delancey Carter. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by one nephew.
Barbara was a faithful member of Oak Level Road Church of Christ Church. Barbara had worked at Row Cleaners and was a secretary of a church. While working at Old Dominion Box Factory in 1966 she met Donald and they was married on November 17, 1967.  She also loved flowers and birds.
Barbara is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Donald W. Kendrick, Sr.; daughters, Lisa Ann Kendrick and Cindy L. Canup (Tim); sons, Donald W. Kendrick, Jr. (Wendy) and Joe L. Kendrick (Julia); grandchildren, Andrew Canup, Nathan Canup, Macie Kendrick, Tripp Kendrick, Zack Kendrick, Trevor Kendrick and Ryan Kendrick; sister, Loretta J. Carter; brother, Larry D. Carter (Susan); brother-in-law, Ernest Lee Kendrick, Jr.; sister-in-law, Mary Lou Collins and five nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends and family from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at Bassett Funeral Service Chapel.  There will be a graveside service conducted at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at Roselawn Burial Park with Steve Canup officiating.  Burial will follow the graveside service.
