Barbara Jean Atkins

Mrs. Barbara Jean Willard Atkins, 75, of Mt. Airy passed away Saturday, March 25, 2023, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Surry County on September 11, 1947, to the late George Willard and India Williams Haynes. Mrs. Atkins was a faithful member of Flat Rock Pentecostal Holiness Church. Barbara was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who will be dearly missed. She is survived by her husband, Harold Dean Atkins; her children, Robin and Brian Barger, Amy Davis, Heather and John Marsh; Penny and Mark Tilley, Phillip and Vickie Atkins, Tabitha and Jeff Cox; thirteen grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; a sister, Metha Davis; a brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Barbara Willard; nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, March 28, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Flat Rock Pentecostal Holiness Church with Dr. David Sparkes officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM at the church. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice, 1427 Edgewood Dr., Suite 101, Mt.
