Barbara Kidd Wright

Barbara Ann Kidd Wright, 77, of Martinsville, passed away Sunday, June 11th, 2023 at home. She was born August 27th, 1945 in Siler City, NC to the late Bessie Mae Lawson and Ernest Kidd. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Patsy Kidd.

Barbara was a devout Christian, mother, wife, and grandmother (Nana) to her family. She was a remarkable woman who touched the lives of everyone around her with her kindness, wisdom, and unwavering love. She was married to her late husband, Stanford Layne Wright, for over 42 years and almost 50 years together.

She exemplified strength and resilience throughout her life, overcoming numerous challenges gracefully and positively. She was the most giving, generous, and selfless person. Her family was at the core of her life. She raised three children, took care of her late husband through various health issues, loved her pets unconditionally, and helped raise her grandson, Jake.

She loved spending time with her family and pets, reading the Bible, doing puzzles, playing video games with Jake, shopping, watching funny pet videos, gardening, bird watching, and was the most fun Nana in the world.

She is survived by her three children, Cindy Barbour (Joey), Denny Sperry (Susan) and Chris Sperry; eight grandchildren, Jake Tusing (Emily), Brianna Sperry, Denver Sperry, Patrick Sperry, Ciara Sperry, Demy O’Malley (Shaun), Cheyenne Barbour, and Brooke Barbour; and three great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be Thursday, June 15, 2023, at 7:00 PM, at Wright Funeral Service Chapel. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
