Barbara Lyn Thanos

Barbara L. Thanos, 74, of Wytheville, passed away Saturday, April 12, 2025.She was preceded in death by her parents, Spiro and Carol Thanos. And her favorite horse, Cheyenne.Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 17 years, Michael Rutland; son, Stefan Kalivas (Sara); step-daughters who she loved as daughters, Katherine Howe (Patrick) and Allison Winkler (Jonathan); grandchildren, Christos, Athena, Lia, Elizabeth, Amelia, Hayden and Patrick; siblings, Dee Ager, George Thanos, and Marilyn Thanos; as well as a host of other extended family; lastly, her beloved horse, Twister and furbabies, Summer and Rio.Barbara and her cooking will be deeply missed.
