Barbara Shively Crider

Barbara Shively Crider, age 78 of Keeling, Virginia passed away Tuesday, April 15, 2025 at Riverside Health and Rehab Center. Mrs. Crider was born September 14, 1946 in Pittsylvania County to the late Ella Ingram Shively and the late Grover Milton Shivley. She was married to the late Bernard Wayne Crider.

She is survived by one daughter, Tammy Thurman of Keeling, Virginia; two sons, David Smith and his wife Lisa of Danville, Virginia and Brian Smith and his wife April of Reidsville, North Carolina; ten grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Linda Chilton and Verlena Rigsby; and one brother, James Shively.

In addition to her beloved husband and parents, she was also predeceased by two sisters, Alease Breer and Evonne Webb; and four brothers, Elvin Shively, Grover Shivley, J.D. Shivley, and Richard Shivley.

A graveside service will be held Friday, April 18, 2025, 1:00 p.m. Floral Hills Memory Gardens with Minister Ron Voss officiating. A visitation will be held prior to the graveside from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m., also at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
