Barbara Smith Anders

Barbara Smith Anders, 76, of Collinsville, VA, passed away on Friday, September 27, 2024, after a lengthy illness. She was born on May 20, 1948, in Hampton, VA to the late Marion Lee Smith and Gladys Hogge Smith. She is predeceased by a brother, Charles Andrew Smith. 

Barabra is survived by husband, John Anders; brother, Gary P. Smith of Hayes, Virginia; and brothers-in-law, Gerald R. Anders and Bruce Castellano of Sea Cliff, New York.

She Graduated from Gloucester High School in Gloucester County, VA, and Riverside Hospital School of Professional Nursing in Newport News, VA. She earned a master’s degree in nursing administration and spent her professional career in Martinsville and Patrick County, VA. She enjoyed traveling with her husband, spending time with friends, reading, gardening, crafting, and cooking.

The family will receive guests at a Celebration of Life Service Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Norris Funeral Services Martinsville Chapel. A visitation will follow the service.
