Barbara Trett Pruitt

Barbara (Bobbie) Trett Pruitt, 76, of Roanoke, gained her wings, Monday, November 18th, 2024 in Roanoke Virginia.

She was the beloved daughter of Lurlene I. Trett and Capt. Robert L Trett. Sister of Chaplin James E Trett, niece of Ruth Irwin, and mother of James (Jamie) Bell.

Bobbie was affectionately known, she was a shining light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her life was one marked by love, compassion and unwavering faith in God.

She completed her master’s degree in 1983 at Old Dominion University. She was a Montessori educator at North Cross elementary after teaching. She continued her career and retired as a patient representative at Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Bobbie Loved to go on cruises and travel near the water. She was on the ski patrol team at the Homestead and competed in the human pyramid water skiing. She played tennis, soft softball and loved to play golf. Bobbie enjoyed sports, playing cards, board games, crossword puzzles cooking for her family, and gardening. The simplest pleasures in life brought her great joy. What she loved the most was her grandkids giving her the title Amma.

Left to cherish her memory is husband of 39 years Perry Pruitt: daughter, Tiffany Lawrence and husband Mark; stepson, Michael Pruitt; grandchildren, Joshua Bell, Luke Lawrence, Olivia Lawrence, Kennedy Bell, Samantha Fullen, and Heather Pruitt; great-granddaughters Britton Brown and Jabriya Brown; lifelong best friend, Millie Thomas; faith-full dog, Tripp.

Services will be held Saturday, November 23, 2024 at 2 pm at Simpson Funeral Home Electric Road Chapel 3912 Electric Road Roanoke, Virginia 24018. A full obituary will be posted shortly. Arrangements by Simpson Funeral Home 540-632-4200.
