Barry Peters

Barry Lynn Peters, 66, of Bassett, Virginia, passed away Sunday, June 18, 2023. He was born September 6, 1956, in Martinsville, Virginia, to the late Henry Davis Peters and Mary Madeline Thompson Peters.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Teresa Lynn Peters; sister, Joyce Williams; brother, Robert Clay Peters (Nellie), and Davis “Dave” Peters.

Barry attended church at County Line Church of God of Prophecy. He enjoyed spending his time working on mowers, mowing grass, and enjoyed watching NASCAR racing.

He is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth Barker (David); son, Eric Parks (Ashley); sister, Carolyn Duncan; brother, Jasper Wayne Peters, Everett Hugh Peters, and Henry Dale Peters; grandchildren, Leland Barker, Jordan Barker, Liam Barker; special nephew, Jaden Burnette; several nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be Wednesday, June 21, 2023, at 11:00 AM at County Line Church of God of Prophecy, 2900 County Line Road, Patrick Springs, Virginia, 24112, with Pastor Jason Callahan officiating. Burial will follow at Shady Rest Cemetery, 200 Graystone Drive, Bassett, Virginia 24055. Visitation will be one half hour prior to the service.
