Beatrice Elder Fears
Beatrice Elder Fears, age 98 of Danville, Virginia passed away January 20, 2025 at her residence surrounded by her family. She had been in declining health for the past year. She was born October 9, 1926 in Campbell County, Virginia to the late Minnie Mae Singleton Elder and the late William David Elder. She was married to the late Charlie Lewis Fears.
Mrs. Fears worked at Dan River Mills, A & P Bakery in Newark, NJ, and retired from Disston manufacturing in Danville, Virginia.
Bea was a loyal and dedicated wife, mother and friend. Her love was unconditional, and we are better people because of her presence in our lives. Anyone who needed help she was there for them, including raising grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Fears is survived by her daughter, Angeline Fears Vicks and her husband Willard; her son, Danny Ray Fears; grandchildren, Wesley Dean Fears (April), Stacey Vicks Hill (Moe), DesiRae Vicks Flitcroft, and Troy Cisneros; eight great-grandchildren; ten great great-grandchildren; her daughter-in-law, Margaret Fears, sister, Estella Guill; and her sister-in-law, Brenda Elder.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to her caretakers, especially Pam Nunn who took exceptional care of Mrs. Fears, she has became like part of their family.
In addition to her beloved husband and parents, she was also predeceased by her son, Bradley Monroe Fears; her granddaughter, Kelly Fears Wrenn; one great grandchild; one great great-grandchild; four sisters, Sue Ella, Valley Mae, Nola Hazel, and Minnie Ruth; and five brothers, James William, Arthur Lacey, Roy Edward, Barkley Junior, and Howard Winford.
A funeral service honoring Mrs. Fears will be held Friday, January 24, 2025, 11:00 a.m. at Norris Funeral Service, West End Chapel, 511 Church Ave. Danville, Virginia. Burial will follow at Danville Memorial Gardens. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., also at Norris Funeral Service. At other times the family will receive friends and family at the residence of Mrs. Fears.
