Bert Easily Collins, Sr.

November 13, 1956 - December 30, 2022

Bert Easily Collins Sr, 66 of Blacksburg, VA departed this life December 30, 2022 in the care of Lewis Gale Medical Center-Montgomery after a long and courageous battle with lung cancer.  Born in Mullens, WV on November 13, 1956 he was a son of the late Daniel Corbett Collins and Gerthie Snider Collins.

Early in his life, Bert worked with the Town of Christiansburg where he retired after 20 years of service.  After retirement, Bert served as a project foreman focusing on weatherization with Community Housing Partners.  Bert's greatest accomplishment though was that of loving his family.  Bert was an outdoorsman who loved fishing, four-wheeling, coon hunting, squirrel hunting, and most especially loved deer hunting with his buddies, Darrell Darnell, Mike Belcher, Justin Williston, Boone Darnell, Monte Darnell, Danny Darnell, and Steve Darnell.  

In addition to his parents Bert is preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Shelor Collins; a great granddaughter, Sadie Grace; brothers, Floyd Collins, Daniel Collins, and Randy Collins; and sisters, Judy Meadows, and Neda Meadows.

Left to cherish his memory to their hearts are his wife, Lisa Ann Collins; sons, Acy Collins (Crystal) of Narrows, VA, and BJ Collins (Kathy Dowdy) of Blacksburg; daughter, Beth Martin (Joe Harris) of Pilot, Virginia; grandchildren, Corbet Collins, Christian Collins, Abigail Custer (Jordan), Sarah Bradbury (Dakota Adkins), and Katie Martin; great grandchildren, Blake and Levi; step-children, Justin Burgess (Tina), Jason Burgess (Brianna), and Joseph Burgess (Nikki Lawson); step-grandchildren, Titus Burgess, Michael Burgess, and Silas Burgess; a brother, Carl Collins of Narrows, VA; and sister, Mary Austin of Dublin. 

There will be a Memorial Service conducted on Saturday, January 7, 2022 at 2:00 PM in the Kendall Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Eddie Kendall officiating.  A guestbook is available to send condolences by visiting www.kendallfuneralhome.com.  The staff of Kendall Funeral Home are honored to serve the Collins family.
