Betty Adkins Gauldin
Betty Adkins Gauldin, 78, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at her residence in Keeling, VA. Born on October 29, 1947, in Franklin County, VA to the late Earlie Lee Adkins and the late Laura Elizabeth Walker Adkins, Mrs. Gauldin lived most of her life in the Keeling area, where she worked in several manufacturing jobs before her retirement. She was married to the late Loyd Irvin Gauldin and was a member of Keeling Baptist Church.
Mrs. Gauldin was a homemaker and loved her children and grandchildren. She was a care giver to her mother, loved her church and friends and above all, she loved the Lord.
Survivors include two step-daughters, Carrie Lynn Hutchens (Pete) of Reidsville, NC and Karen Lea Gauldin of Pelham, NC, a step-son, Loyd Irvin Gauldin, Jr., a sister, Judy Adkins Simmers of Salem, VA, a brother, Charles Thomas Adkins (Janet) of Keeling, VA, as well as grandchildren, Travis, Patrick, Randall Custer (Brittany), Hunter (Katlyn), and Payton Rose, great-grandson, River Custer, aunt, Goldie Barbour, special niece, Holly Jones (Mike), and special nephew Cole Adkins (Laura).
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Gauldin was predeceased by a son, Jonathan Custer.
A visitation of friends will be held on Thursday, January 15, 2026, at Norris Funeral Services, West End Chapel, 511 Church Ave., Danville from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 12:00 p.m., also at Norris West End Chapel, officiated by Bishop Pete Hutchens. Interment will follow the funeral service at Danville Memorial Gardens, Danville, VA.
