Betty Disher Poindexter

Betty Gail Disher Poindexter, 88, of Dobson, North Carolina passed away Sunday, July 13, 2025, at the Joan & Howard Woltz Hospice Home. Born August 29, 1936, in Forsyth County to the late Leon Morris and Hallie Ball Disher. Betty worked at Chathams for 39 years in various roles. She then was able to serve Surry County as a Deputy Clerk of Court. Until Covid, Betty volunteered for Hospice, further serving her community. Betty was a long-standing member of Fairview Baptist Church; since 1967. Left to cherish her memory is her sons and daughters-in-law, William A. “Drew” Poindexter and Tracy, and Zane D. Poindexter and Lori; grandchildren, Salem Poindexter, Stratton Poindexter, Holden Poindexter, and Avery Poindexter. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, William E. “Bill” Poindexter; and brother, Morris Disher. The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 2:00 PM, Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at Fairview Baptist Church. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at Fairview Baptist Church with Rev. Billy Nale officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
