Betty Gay Taylor Cave

June 26, 1943 - April 1, 2025

Mrs. Betty Gay Taylor Cave, age 81, of Mount Airy, passed away early Tuesday morning, April 1, 2025, at her residence. Mrs. Cave was born in Surry County on June 26, 1943, to the late Paul Carpenter and Elizabeth Creed Carpenter. She worked for many years as a beautician, making many friends and making lasting memories with her clients she served. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend, she will surely be missed by the many that knew her. Mrs. Cave is survived by her loving daughter, Michelle Taylor; sons and daughters-in-law, Marty Taylor and Tanya, Wayne Taylor and Shannon; grandchildren, Levi Taylor, Shay Taylor and fiancé Daniel Draughn, Braeden Taylor, Will Taylor, and Kasen Taylor; niece, Melinda Taylor. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Larry Taylor; second husband, Franklin Cave; sister, Pauline Golding. A funeral service to honor Mrs. Cave’s life will be held Friday, April 4, 2025, at Blues Grove Baptist Church at 3:00 PM with the Rev. Travis Sechrist officiating. Burial will follow at Union Hill Friends Meeting. The family will receive friends Friday, April 4, 2025, from 1:00 until 3:00 at Blues Grove Baptist Church. Flowers will be accepted, or memorial donations may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice or Blues Grove Baptist Church. Moody’s of Mount Airy is respectfully serving the Taylor/Cave family.
