Betty Harville Boswell

Betty Ann Harville Boswell, 81 of Danville, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on December 31, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Danville on November 18, 1942. Betty was predeceased by her parents, Robert and Ruby Harville. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Archie C. Boswell, Jr.; children Kirk (Shelayne) Boswell, Angela (Shane) Finnell; grandson Robert Boswell; and siblings Linda (Tommy) Yeatts and Colene (Joel) Byant along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Betty graduated from Whitmell High School and worked for Disston, Grove Park Elementary, and retired from Owens Brockway Glass. She was a very active member of Third Avenue Congregational Christian Church and Mount Herman Baptist Church. She served in children and youth ministries, she sang in the adult choir, and she led the prayer team ministry. Over the years she was a prayer warrior praying thousands of prayers for family, friends, co-workers, church members, neighbors, missionaries and many others that she didn't even know personally.

Betty was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved birds, sunsets, and beach trips but her greatest joy was to spend time with her family. She encouraged her children and grandchild in all of their interests and she loved to attend all of their sporting and special events. She also taught each of them about Jesus.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, January 5, 2024, at Norris Funeral Services, Mt. Hermon Chapel, 3995 Franklin Turnpike, Danville 24540 with Pastors Steve Chromy, and Ryan Riley officiating. A visitation will precede the funeral from 10 until 11 a.m. at Norris Funeral Services, Mt. Hermon Chapel. Internment will follow at Danville Memorial Gardens 510 Church Avenue, Danville, 24541. The family will receive friends at other times at the residence, 332 Samuel Bend, Danville, Va.
