Betty Wright Lawrence

Betty Jane Lawrence, 92, of Salem, VA, passed away on March 25, 2023. She is preceded in death by her parents Leo and Lottie Wright, husband Clifton Rodney Lawrence, son Don Rodney Lawrence as well as her brothers George Wright and Leo "Buck" Wright. Betty is survived by her son Timothy Lawrence (Sandy), granddaughter Wrenn Brendel (Alex), great grandchildren (Hudson and Fiona), brother Jimmy Wright, longtime friend Penni, and several nieces and nephews (Mike, Kim, Jason, Mark, and Sharon).

Betty was a remarkable woman, born on November 3, 1930. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Betty always enjoyed decorating for holidays, hosting meals, and visiting with her friends and family at her kitchen booth. She was raised in Salem and was a wealth of knowledge regarding local history. Above all, Betty enjoyed being called “Granny”, a title in which she wholeheartedly embraced and loved dearly. She will be greatly missed.  

Please join the family on Wednesday March 29, 2023, for a visitation from 2 to 3 p.m. and a funeral service at 3 p.m.  at Lotz Funeral Home Salem, followed by a graveside service at Sherwood Memorial Park.
