Beverly Juelsgaard Fischer
Beverly Juelsgaard Fischer, 72, of Chatham, VA, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 27, 2025, and entered the loving arms of her Lord and Savior.
Beverly (Bev) was born October 6, 1952, to the late Dale Juelsgaard and Myrtle Lange Juelsgaard of Elk Horn, Iowa. In addition to her parents, she was pre-deceased by her brother, Terry Juelsgaard and her sister, Jane Juelsgaard.
After graduating from Elk Horn High School, Bev went on to pursue her passion for horses at Meredith Manor (Equestrian College) in West Virginia. She was then an instructor at Ohio State Agricultural Technical Institute. Her love for horses began at a very young age of 3, where she would spend hours riding and even napping on their backs, under the shade of a tree. After a riding injury to her knee, she later attended Virginia Tech where she pursued a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and then her Master’s Degree in special education. She then worked as a schoolteacher for over 40 years. Bev was an incredible woman of faith, in constant worship and prayer with her Lord and Savior. She was always thinking of, giving to and ministering to those around her. She spent her last days visiting and praying with her closest friends and family, right to the end. Bev’s love, laughter, and kindness will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Bev is survived by her son, Jeremy Fischer (Sarah); brothers, Larry Juelsgaard (Pricilla), Eric Juelsgaard (Elise); grandchildren - Makala Perkins (Christian), Landon Fischer, Caden Fischer and Logann Fischer; as well as several nieces and nephews, many cousins and a host of close friends.
A Memorial service will be held at a later date. Norris Funeral Services, Inc. & Crematory, Chatham Chapel, Chatham, VA is respectfully serving the family. Online condolences may be made at www.norrisfuneral.com
