Bill Baxter Rhyne

Mr. William “Bill” Baxter Rhyne, age 94, of Pinnacle, passed away on Sunday, March 2, 2025 at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. He was born on November 25, 1930 in Surry County to the late Glenn and Sarah Martin Rhyne. Mr. Rhyne retired from the United States Postal Service and proudly served our country in the United States Air Force. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 22 years, Claudia Snow Rhyne; sons, Warren Rhyne, Shaun (Lori) Hunter, Derrick (Lynn) Hunter; grandchildren, Lathan (Katie) Hunter, Ryan (Maranda) Hunter, Molly (Ben) Holt; great-grandchildren, Silas Hunter, Gracie Holt; sisters, Nancy Williams, Ruby Alexander, Trixie Darnell, Gayle Wells, Kathy (Gary) Wagoner, Elaine (Gary) Groce; brother, Jimmy (Mary) Rhyne. In addition to his parents, Mr. Rhyne was preceded in death by his first wife of 50 years, Doris Pardue Rhyne and a daughter, Linda Karen Rhyne; sisters, Evelyn Groce and Frances Collins; brother, Charles Rhyne. A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 10, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Pinnacle View Baptist Church with service conducted by Rev. Ron Chamblin and Military Honors by VFW Post #2019 of Mt. Airy and Post #9436 of Pilot Mountain. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
