Billie A. Golding
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of father, husband, brother and friend, Billie Arthur Golding on February 18, 2025 in Roanoke, Virginia. Billie was born on May 13, 1943, the first child of Mary Hope (Booker) and Willie Arthur Golding in Quantico, Virginia. He was a graduate of North Surry High School in Mount Airy, NC as well as East Tennessee State University. He was also a member of the United States Air Force and served in Viet Nam, Japan, and Germany. After graduation with a degree in accounting, Bill began his career as an appraiser and soon after started Golding Appraisals in Roanoke where he worked until his retirement.
Billie was an avid runner, swimmer, and fisherman as a young adult. He loved to travel with friends and experience different cuisines, and ultimately he was a great cook and recreated many restaurant dishes at home. He loved to share his recipes with friends and family. Bill was always interested in history and in his later years spent numerous hours researching the genealogical history of both sides of his family. He thoughtfully researched and compiled a bound geology of the family which he generously presented to each member of his family.
Bill is predeceased by both of his parents. He is survived by his son Will Golding of Roanoke, wife Cheryl McManus Golding of the home, and sisters Sandra Golding (Joe) of Boones Mill, Virginia and Dianne Wrenn (Steve) of Asheboro, NC, plus numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
