Billie June Jamerson Sleeper
On April 17, 2025, Billie June Jamerson Sleeper, age 74 of Pittsylvania County went home to the Lord. She had struggled with chronic illness for the last nine years. She was surrounded by family and loved through her transition.
Billie was born March 19, 1951, in Lynchburg, VA to the late Mary Wilson Astin Jamerson and the late John Washington Jamerson. Billie is preceded in death by her daughter, Sabrina and her two older sisters and brother.
She is survived by her husband, William Daniel Sleeper, of 48 years; her three children: Aaron Sleeper, Jeremy and Courtney Hood, one remaining sister, Bettie Bray, and her two precious grandchildren whom she loved more than life itself.
Billie “fought the good fight, finished course, and kept the faith” through it all (2 Timothy 4:7-8). Billie served for years in the children and youth ministry at Oakland United Methodist Church, the prayer and women’s ministries at Mount Hermon Baptist, and attended online the last decade at Dan River Church. She loved the Lord and wanted
others to know His love. She also wanted others to know that no one was perfect and being kind was the best practice for everyone.
Billie also loved her family so very much. Every birthday and holiday meant the world to her. She was surrounded by her full family in March to celebrate her 74 th birthday. Now we celebrate the legacy of her Godly life.
The family will hold a Celebration of Life for Billie on April 26, 2025 at 1:00 pm at Dan River Church in Danville, VA. Interment will follow at the Cumbie Memorial Cemetery, Rustburg, VA. A visitation by friends will take place before the service from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m., also at Dan River Church.
Norris Funeral Services, Inc. & Crematory, Mt. Hermon Chapel, 3995 Franklin Tpke., Danville, Va. is respectfully serving the family.
