Billy Robert Jones

Billy Robert Jones, 86, of Martinsville, Virginia passed away Friday, December 13, 2024. He was born March 8, 1938, in Franklin County, Virginia to the late Robert Jones and Algie Finney Jones.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Georldine Fuller, Mildred Reeves, Virgie Fuller, Fannie Mahan, Nannie Jones, Evelyn Moorman; brothers, Herbert Jones and Charlie C. Jones.Billy was a spiffy dresser matching from his hat to his shoes. He had a collection of instruments: fiddler, harmonica, banjo that he could not play. He attended Franklin County Public School. During his younger life he worked on a farm. He relocated to Martinsville, Virginia and started his career at American Furniture until the doors closed and then he became employed by Hooker Furniture until he retired in March 2001.He is survived by his nieces, Teresa Harris (Thomas) of Chatham, Virginia, Arlene Jones of Baltimore, Maryland, Alice Word of Danville, Virgina; and nephew, James Jones of Eden, North Carolina.The funeral will be held on Saturday, December 21, 2024, at 12:00 PM at Wright Funeral Service Chapel with Pastor Teresa Harris officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.Wright Funeral Service & Crematory is serving the family.
