Billy Taylor Lynch Rescheduled - 9/18/ 2025
Billy Taylor Lynch, 79 of Glade Hill, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 4, 2025, in Roanoke, Virginia. He was born on August 19, 1946, in Rocky Mount, Virginia and lived a life marked by Service, Loyalty and developed deep connections with all those around him. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army and served his country with dignity, integrity, and honor during the Vietnam war. He earned the purple heart for his bravery, sacrifice, and was honorably discharged as a purple heart disabled veteran. His military service remained a defining chapter in his life and one that reflected his courage and unwavering commitment to others. Billy was a devoted and loyal member of Furnace Creek Baptist Church and a loving brother and father to his sister and children. He is survived by his loving sister, Gail Thomas (CW), Children which included, Wanda Jones (Corey), Tim Lynch (Beverly) and Cheryl Katherine Lynch. He cherished time spent with them and held family close to his heart throughout his life. He was preceded in death by his parents, Taylor and Gladys Lynch, his sister, Betty Maddy (Donald) and his granddaughter, Danielle Riviera. He had five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren, which he loved with all his heart and spirit. Billy was always ready to lend a helping hand, whether it was a family member, close friends or even someone he had just met. He offered support without hesitation and his kindness which left a lasting impression on all who knew him. Billy found great joy and the simple pleasures in life which included, going to church, walking with the Lord and spending time with his motorcycle family hitting the open road every chance he could. He became such a regular customer at local restaurants that servers knew him by name as not just a customer but as a friend. Music also played an important role in Billy’s life. He enjoyed playing the guitar, singing and he also had a long-life appreciation for antique cars. Billy’s legacy is one of strength, humbleness and countless enduring friendships. He will be deeply missed and remembered by all the lives he touched. May his memory bring comfort, compassion, and strength to all who knew him. Funeral services has been RESCHEDULED and will take place at Furnace Creek Baptist Church (975 Scuffling Hill Road, Rocky Mount, VA), 3:30 p.m. Thursday, September 18, 2025. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. His family will start receiving friends at 2:00 p.m. prior to the service.
