Bobbie Jo Chestnut Griggs, aged 54, of Pembroke, Virginia, passed away peacefully on the 19th of October, 2025. Born on August 24, 1971, in Virginia, Bobbie Jo was a cherished soul who exuded warmth and kindness.
Bobbie Jo is survived by her loving husband, Steve Griggs, and her adored children, Robert Conley, Melissa Spicer, and Lynnette Stafford, married to Jared. Her grandchildren, Madison Stafford, Makenzi Stafford, Jaxon Stafford, Sophie Stafford, Jase Stafford, Scarlett Conley, Adeline Conley, and Melody St. Clair, will forever treasure the precious moments had with their grandmother. She is also survived by her dear sister, Angela Morse, and her husband, Buddy. Bobbie Jo’s life was preceded by her parents, Jerry Rosenbaum and Freda Carolyn Dunford McCroskey, as well as her brothers, Allen and Jamie Rosenbaum.
Professionally, Bobbie Jo was respected and admired for her compassionate service as a Certified Nursing Assistant with Carilion. Her dedication to her work was only matched by the love she held for her patients and colleagues until she had the fortune to change her position to be a stay-at-home mom.
A devout Christian, Bobbie Jo was a dedicated member of God's House in Hoges Chapel. Bobbie Jo found immense joy in the simplest of life's pleasures. She cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren, whom she considered her greatest blessings. Visits with her sister and family were filled with laughter and love, creating memories that will be held close to their hearts forever.
An avid reader, Bobbie Jo found solace and excitement in the pages of James Patterson novels. Her love for her family was paralleled by her affection for her dogs, her nurturing of plants, and her passion for horror movies. Many an evening was spent on the porch, enjoying the tranquility of the river, reflecting the serenity she found in nature. Bobbie Jo's zest for life shone bright in her love for dining at Texas Roadhouse, a place where she shared countless meals and moments with those closest to her.
The family will receive friends at a time of visitation on Thursday, October 23, 2025 from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM in Kendall Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted on Thursday, October 23, 2025 at 1:00 PM in Kendall Funeral Home with Pastor Kathy Atkinson officiating.
