Bobbie Koger Joyce
Bobbie Koger Joyce, 88, passed away on Friday, March 7, 2025. She was born on January 14, 1937, in Bassett, Virginia, to the late Robert H. Koger Jr. and Lucille Joyce Koger. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Billy Green Joyce; sister, Minnie Lou Koger, and an infant brother.
Bobbie was a cherished member of First Baptist Church of Collinsville, where she served in many roles, including pianist, choir member, and more. She was beloved by her family, friends, and fellow church members and known for her remarkable kindness, generosity, and strong faith. Bobbie had a special gift for making others feel loved, often through her cooking, baking, and sharing meals with anyone who came to visit. She also enjoyed gardening, canning, and freezing vegetables. After retiring as a bank teller with 38 years of service, Bobbie devoted her time to caring for friends and family, especially those who were sick or in need. A kind soul, she never spoke a harsh word and was always smiling, embodying grace and love in everything she did. Bobbie was truly an angel on Earth, leaving a lasting impression on all who knew her.
Bobbie is survived by her daughter, Taujinia “TJ” Martin (Dickie); son, Barry Joyce (Deborah); brothers, Robert H. Koger III and James “Donald” Koger; grandchildren, Brandon Martin (Ashley), Adam Joyce (Rebecca), and Halle Joyce; and great-grandchildren, Jacob Martin, Eli Martin, with one on the way, Isabell Joyce.
The Joyce family would like to thank the Landmark Center in Stuart and Mountain Valley Hospice for their compassionate care.
The family will accept guests during the Visitation on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, from 5:30 - 7:30 PM, at First Baptist Church of Collinsville. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, March 13, 2025, at 12:00 PM, at First Baptist Church of Collinsville with Doctor Larry Cheek officiating. A burial will follow at Henry Memorial Park in Bassett, Virginia.
