Mr. Bobbie Lee Hairston, age 81, was born on September 28, 1944, to Betty Frances Hairston in Henry County, Virginia. He departed this life on Monday, December 22, 2025 at Stratford Rehabilitation in Danville, Virginia.Bobbie Lee Hairston received his education in the Henry County School System. He earned acertificate in Building Construction from Patrick Henry Community College. Bobbie wasgainfully employed at Brown Products in Axton, Virginia, for over 20 years until its closure;Fieldcrest in Fieldale, Virginia, for over five years until its closure; and later with Henry CountyWaste and Sanitation until his health declined.Brother Hairston was a faithful member of New Bethel Christian Church, under the leadership ofPastor Mabel Finney, for many years, where he served as an usher and sang in the choir. Later, hebecame a member of Evangel Temple United Holy Church, under Pastor Marvin Slate Sr., wherehe continued to serve in the choir until his health declined.

Bobbie was united in holy matrimony to Laura Jennings on November 16, 1974. From this union, two children were born: Stephanie Dallas (Bernard Dallas) of Fayetteville, North Carolina, and Pamela Hairston-Kirby (Ken Kirby) of New Braunfels, Texas. Bobbie leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife, Laura Hairston; his children; sons-in-law Bernard Dallas and Ken Kirby; five grandchildren, Damerra, Daqwon, Jamel, Tristen, and Nalani; and a host of other family and friends.He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Frances Hairston, and his aunt, Mattie Bell Hairston.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 2, 2026 at 12:00pm at Bassett Funeral Service Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at the Carver Memorial Gardens.
