Bobby Franklin Blakley, Sr.

Bobby Franklin Blakley, Sr., 79, of Bassett passed away Sunday, June 11, 2023, at Sovah Martinsville. He was born February 16, 1944, in Jolo, West Virginia, to the late John William and Virgie Hicks Blakley. He retired from Bassett Superior Lines after twenty-three years of service. He attended Martinsville Church of Truth, played the guitar, loved telling jokes and had a big personality.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Hazel Ruth Noe Blakley; second wife, Carol Ann Davison Blakley; sisters, Josephine Kennedy, and Stella Blakley Simpkins; brothers, Hershel Blakley, and Floyd Lesley Blakley.

Bobby is survived by his daughters, Ruth Ann Bailey, and Sue Blakley; son, Bobby Franklin Blakley, Jr. (Bonnie); sisters, Siodia Koboski, Bertha Phillips, Lorene Mounts, Teresa Peak, Linda Blakley and Janet Hall (Garland); brothers, John William Blakley, and Matthew Pruitt; nine grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, June 14, 2023, at 7:00 PM at Martinsville Church of Truth. Brother Bill Preskitt and Brother John Ingram. The visitation will be one hour prior to the service. The burial will be Thursday, June 15, 2023, at 11 AM at Henry Memorial Park.
