Bobby I. Davis

April 27, 1939 - March 1, 2026

It is with a sad heart that we announce the passing of Bobby I. Davis, age 86, of Danville, Virginia. He was born on April 27, 1939, in Pittsylvaia County to the late Dorothy Harris Davis and the late Daniel Davis and passed away peacefully on March 1, 2026 at Sovah Health, Martinsville, VA.

Bobby was married to Rebecca (Becky) Davis, who survives, of the residence. For 35 years, he worked for the U.S. Postal Service as the manager of the Schoolfield Station Post Office. During that same time Bobby served in the Virginia Army National Guard for 31.5 years. Bobby was well liked by superiors, peers, and all who worked with him in both of his professions: Postal Manager and Soldier. In turn, he loved all whom he worked with, as well as his family who supported him and loved him.

When not working, Bobby loved sports. In high school he played baseball and basketball, and later he enjoyed taking his two girls fishing. He was home and family oriented and enjoyed quiet times at home with his family. But he also enjoyed the ocean and traveling to Myrtle Beach for family vacations.

In addition to his wife, Bobby is survived by two daughters, Angela Davis Mullins of Concord, VA and Jennifer Reagan Eanes (James) of Providence, NC; a sister, Nancy Davis Karnes (Danny) of Dry Fork, VA; five grandchildren, Christopher Davis Talley, Jessica Talley Keller, Tiffany Faye Jordan, Todd David Reagan, and Matthew Scott Reagan. In addition, he is survived by two step-grandchildren, Brian Hawker and Jamie Eanes, and 19 great-grandchildren.

Bobby was predeceased by his parents and a brother, Dan Davis.

A visitation of friends and family will be held at Norris Funeral Services, West End Chapel, Danville, VA from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 5, 2026. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., following the visitation, officiated by Pastor Jim Reed. Interment will follow at Danville Memorial Gardens.
