Bobby Sherman Peters

Bobby Sherman Peters, age 51 of Ferrum died Saturday, October 4, 2025. He was born March 16, 1974 and was preceded in death by his father, Sherman Elton Peters; sister, Melissa Peters; and grandparents, Henry Elton and Hallie Peters, Stafford and Esther Sink. Bobby was a man of quiet strength and unwavering devotion. He had a great love for his family. His passion for the logging business reflected his deep connection to the land. He found joy in the rhythm of hard work, in the scent of fresh-cut timber, and in the peace of the woods. Whether he was operating machinery or walking the forest floor, Bobby felt most at home beneath the canopy of trees. Bobby’s second love was trucking. Sitting high in his big rig, watching the road stretch out ahead, made him feel free. He liked the quiet, the hum of the engine, and the way the world passed by one mile at a time. Every mile was a new adventure. To those who knew him, Bobby wasn’t just a logger-he was a steward of nature, a mentor, and a friend. His legacy lives on in the hearts of his loved ones and in the woods, he cherished so deeply. Surviving are his daughter and son-in-law, Miranda and Ben Scroggins of Atlantic Beach, FL; mother and step-father, Barbara and Steve Jones of Ferrum, VA; brother and sister-in-law, Robby and Jennifer Peters of Ferrum, VA; niece, Cassidy Peters of Vinton, VA; nephew, Devin Peters of Ferrum, VA; aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. A graveside service will be held at Maple Grove Cemetery 2 p.m. Thursday, October 9, 2025 with Pastor Greg Poff officiating. Arrangements by Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
