Brandy Ann Dickerson
Our world was blessed with Brandy Ann Dickerson on June 13th, 1981. The first-born child to Tracy Price Dickerson. Brandy’s light touched everyone she met. Born with Spina Bifida, Brandy spent her life in a wheelchair but that didn’t stop her from living life. Brandy had a wonderful sense of humor and LOVED to talk. She was the best storyteller. She loved her family. She loved babies, animals, and country music. Her bestie was her Grandmother Mabery. These two ladies would cruise the town, stay up at night talking and watching movies till the sun came up. Brandy attended school in Salem VA before moving and graduating high school from Eastern Montgomery High School.
Left to cherish her memory- Her Mother Tracy. Words can’t express the unconditional love and care given to Brandy by her mom Tracy. She was her faithful caregiver, her strength, and her protector. Tracy never let Brandy’s condition get in the way of ensuring she had a wonderful life. Paul Voorhees who was Brandy’s real-life Father, Paul cared for Brandy as his own and loved her dearly. Brandy’s Sister Hope Dickerson and her brother Chad Dickerson, nieces Emmah and Kennleigh and Nephew Shawn, her special friend James Ezell, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Also, her fur babies-dogs Annie and Mocha.
Preceded in death by her beloved Grandparents Mabery and Wallace Price and brother Brad Steven Dickerson.
A special thank you to the many medical professionals who cared for Brandy throughout her life. Most recently the Wound Clinic at New River Valley Hospital. Specifically, to Dr Jeffrey Thompson- and staff and Dr. Mary Ellen Mick.
Memorial Service will be Thursday Jan 4th at 2:00pm in the Abbey Chapel Sherwood Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial donations be given to Fort Lewis Christian Church (2931 W Main Street Salem, Va. 24153) where Brandy was a member.
