Brenda Anna Vass Pruitt

Mrs. Brenda Anna Vass Pruitt, 75 of Dobson, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday February 20, 2026. She was born in Bassett, Virginia on August 12, 1950, to the late Herman and Elizabeth Tobler Vass. Grandma Brenda was known as “the most devoted Christian ever” by several of her church family and was a faithful member of New Beginnings Community Church in Cana, VA. She loved to work in her flower garden and decorate her house. Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 18 ½ years, David Zane Pruitt; daughter and son-in-law, Lorie and Ricky Culler; son, Brian Norman; stepson, Joshua and Katie Pruitt; grandchildren, Matthew Culler, Lindsey Culler, and Jensen Wiles; step grandchildren, Eli Pruitt and Zoee Pruitt; great grandchildren, Torin Culler and Ila Culler; and several other family and friends. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Pruitt was preceded in death by a daughter, Sherry Norman; granddaughter, Kayla Norman; sister, Barbara Turner; and her twin sister, Linda Emma Vass at the age of 6 months. Funeral services will be held Friday February 27, 2026, at 2:00pm at New Beginnings Community Church with Pastor Wes Mosteller officiating. Burial will follow in the Genesis Full Gospel Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening February 26, 2026, from 6:00 until 8:00pm at New Beginnings Community Church, 1790 Old Pipers Gap Road, Cana, Virginia 24317.
