Brenda Fay Murray

Brenda Fay Murray, 80, of Virginia, passed away on September 17, 2025. She was born on May 26, 1945, in Virginia to the late Hosey Poff and Effie Vest Poff.

Brenda is survived by her husband, John Murray; sons, Brian Murray and wife Anna, and David Murray and wife Christie; sister, Trenda Breeding and husband Ken; niece, Courtney Bower and husband Aric; nephew, Aaron Breeding and wife Jenny. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Angela Siler and husband Ricky, Tiffani Kriner and husband Caleb, Josh Murray and wife Angelise, Steven Downs and wife Brandy, Billy Downs and wife Kristen, Kristie Murray, and Kelly Bowers; and great-grandchildren, Brooklynn Siler, Audrey Siler, Brayden Downs, Grayson Downs, Samantha Downs, Alexis Downs, Madelynn Downs, and Grayson Downs.

Brenda was a true people person who never met a stranger. She loved to shop and especially enjoyed her yearly trips to Pennsylvania to visit the outlet stores. Brenda loved spending time with family and friends, and she found joy in baking and cooking for those she loved.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 21, 2025, from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Lotz Funeral Home in Salem. A funeral service will be held on Monday, September 22, 2025, at 12:00 noon at Lotz Funeral Home Salem, with burial following at Sherwood Memorial Park in Salem.
