Brenda Jones Bryson

Brenda Jones Bryson, 79, of Martinsville, Virginia, passed away Tuesday, July 29, 2025. She was born October 27, 1945, in Martinsville, Virginia, to the late Grover Jones and Frances Edna Viar.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Burnham B. Bryson; and daughter, Stacey Lynn Moore; sisters, Sandra Holtausen, Dixie O’Leary, and Patsy Rosisky.

Brenda was a hardworking woman who ran a thrift store for more than ten years. She loved spending time with her sisters, creating memories filled with laughter and love. She enjoyed traveling and exploring new places and experiences. More than anything, she loved her family deeply and devoted her life to caring for them. Brenda especially enjoyed spending time with her beloved grandchildren, who brought her endless happiness.

She is survived by her son, Dwayne L. Hopkins (Ramona), Stepson, Greg Bryson; stepdaughter, Michelle Bryson; sister, Phyllis Sheppard; brother, Grover “Smokey” Jones (Jeannette); grandchildren, Samantha Eckel (Clayton), Matthew Moore (Chelsea); great-grandson, Wesley Moore.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 23, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Wright Funeral Service Chapel.
