Brenda Lee Morris

Ms. Brenda Lee Morris aka Burner Hone, 68 of Mount Airy, passed away on Friday October 17, 2025, at Northern Regional Hospital in Mount Airy. She was born April 15, 1957, in Surry County to the late Dee Lee Shinault and Ima Lee Cox Morris. Ms. Morris retired from Novant Health after 29 years of dedicated service. Brenda is survived by a daughter, Kasey McHone and Jimmy Galyean; sisters, Norma Cockerham, Marie Morris and Terry Fisher, Susie and Lavin Puckett, Cathy and Phillip Snow, and Donna Shinault; brothers, David Morris, Billy and Ressie Morris, Bobby and Gail Morris, and Ricky and Angie Shinault; good friends, Yvonne Edwards, Steve Coffee, Jess and Michael, Debbie Overby, Debbie Draughon Dickerson, and Paula Albert; her fur baby, Missy; several nieces and nephews; and several other friends and family. In addition to her parents, Ms. Morris was preceded in death by a sister, Gail Hutchens; and her former husband, Tim McHone. A celebration of life will be held on Sunday October 26, 2025, at 4:00pm at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy with Mr. Billy Morris officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 3:00 – 4:00pm and at other times at the home of her sister, Cathy at 181 Friendly Lane, Pilot Mountain, NC 27041. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
