Brenda M. Holmes

Brenda Mae Holmes, 84, of Roanoke, Virginia passed away peacefully on November 3, 2025 surrounded by her loved ones.

Brenda spent many dedicated years working as an office manager where she was known for her friendly spirit. Outside of work, she found joy in the simple things that made her the happiest – cooking delicious meals for her family, sewing and knitting beautiful pieces by hand, and spending quiet moments reading a good book.

Brenda’s life was defined by love, generosity, and devotion to her family. She is survived by her son, Billy Batts and his wife Jobie; her grandson, Hunter Batts; her sister, Darlene Felts; her niece, Summer; great-niece, Seanna; nephews, Cameron, Bill, and Todd; along with special friends, Mike Callihan, Lisa, Katie, Caroline, Camryn, Julie Bell, Brenden, Aden, and Camden.

She was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Angela Loraine “Lori” Batts; her brothers, Bill Holmes and David Felts.

The family will receive friends on Friday, November 14, 2025 from 2 pm to 3 pm at Simpson Funeral Home, 5160 Peters Creek Road. A Celebration of Life service will follow at 3 pm in the Chapel of Simpson Funeral Home with Pastor Michael Duval officiating.

Brenda will be remembered for her kind heart, her warmth, and her unwavering love for those around her. Her gentle presence will be deeply missed, but her memory will live on in the hearts of everyone who knew and loved her.
