Brenda Young Boyd
Brenda Young Boyd, 78 years young, of Rocky Mount, passed away on Thursday, October 26, 2023 unexpectedly. She was born on February 11, 1945 to Beverly and Mary Sue Young in Roanoke, VA in the Williamson Road area and attended William Fleming High School.
Brenda was a blessing to many with her warm smile, but especially her loving husband of 20 years, Warren “Butch” Boyd and her step-children, Warren “Bubba” Boyd, Dana Boyd, Stephanie Boyd, Timmy Boyd, and was a doting grandmother to their children Sidney, Gavyn, Bailey Grace, Benjamin, Nathan and their many fur babies.
Brenda was also blessed with many cousins, Denny (Skipper) Early and his wife, Donna, and their daughter, who was like a niece to Brenda, Lauren and spouse, Chris Maxwell; and their son, who was like a nephew to Brenda, Tyler and his wife, Sarah Gayle Early; and their grandchildren, Sutter and Lane Maxwell and Patton and Kellen Early, and Donna’s sister, Pam Goodwin, who she always looked forward to sharing Christmas Eve Dinner with and making her twice baked potatoes that she always said were better than Ukrops. She always enjoyed traveling with them each year.
Brenda also leaves behind her cousin who she spoke with almost daily, and was more like a sister, Dianne Taylor, and her children and grandchildren. Brenda also enjoyed spending time with her cousins Tina Ford and husband, Eddie and their children and grandchild Stephanie Nichols; Sonny Keys and wife, Sarah and their children and grandchildren; and Randy Keys and his wife, Sandy and their children and grandchildren.
Brenda was a friend to many, an advocate for animals, making needlepoint samplers, watching HGTV, shopping, making fudge at Christmas and food for many, but especially getting ready for the next yard sale, where she always invited friends and family to join in her fun or they would come to spend time with her over the weekend long event.
The family thanks you for the outpour of love and support during this difficult time.
In lieu of flowers please donate to the Franklin County Humane Society Planned Pethood & Adoption Center and/or Franklin Heights Church to the Ralph Heights Sunday School Class.
