Bruce Lane Shelton

Bruce Lane Shelton, 82, of Ridgeway, Virginia, passed away Thursday, October 24, 2024. He was born October 16, 1942, in North Carolina, to the late Charles Henry Shelton and Mary Goosbly Shelton.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Shelton; one sister, and three brothers.Bruce was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Eden, North Carolina. He loved going to church and was a very kind person. He also liked the outdoors, camping, mowing, working in the yard and Nascar. Bruce loved his country and being in the Army and National Guard.He is survived by his sons, Jeff Shelton (Tamara), Joey Shelton; Special companion, Nancy Bowes; grandchildren, Colton Shelton (Morgan), Scott Shelton, Destiny Crouch, Nathan Crouch; great grandchildren, Layla Shelton, Weston Cocchia.The funeral will be Monday, October 28, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Bethel Baptist Church with Pastor Darrell Boles officiating. Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery, 711 Church Street, Ridgeway, Virginia. Military Honors will be presented by The Martinsville & Henry County Veterans Honor Guard.
