Bruce Wayne Schneider

January 23, 2025 - January 23, 2025

Bruce Wayne Schneider, 55, of Bassett Virginia, passed away Thursday, January 23, 2024, at Franklin Memorial Hospital. He was born at Butterworths Hospital in Grand Rapids, Michigan, to Phillip Schneider and Sherry Akers King.

Bruce was of the Christian faith and, although he was unable to attend church on a regular basis, he was blessed with home visits from Pastor CJ of the House of Purpose. He had a deep love for the outdoors, especially fishing—whether competing in tournaments or enjoying peaceful days on the water, “Did I tell you, I fished?” Bruce also loved hunting and riding motorcycles. He cherished every moment spent with his grandchildren, whether it was teaching them bad habits or fishing with his #1 grandson, Ryder.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Katherine J. Schneider; five children, Brandon Dawson (Julie), Kevin Elsbury (Ashley), Jennie Schneider, Jacob Dawson (Lindsey), and Kayla Anderson; grandchild by choice, Willow Rain; additional grandchildren, Katie Grace “Gracie Lou”, Ryder, Journey, Reagan, Sage, Carson, Paisley, and Teagan; one sister, Dena Pinkard; and one brother, Brent King.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to everyone at Bolt Transportation in Bassett, Virginia, where he formed friendships with all who served him. They would also like to thank Billy and Michelle Horsley for their kindness and support.

All services will be private.
