Calvin Randall Stratton

Calvin Randall “Randy” Stratton, 71, of Lynchburg, passed away Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at Lynchburg General Hospital.
Born in Lynchburg on August 18, 1953, he was the son of the late Calvin Douglas Stratton and Patricia Harris Stratton. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Steven Stratton; sister-in-law, Donna F. Stratton; and their son, Scott.

Randy was a 1972 graduate of Amherst County High School and attended Hargrave Military Academy for post-graduate studies. He worked for the Lynchburg Foundry and RR Donnelley before becoming an over-the-road truck driver. He was proud to have traveled through every state in the United States except Hawaii and Alaska.

A devoted sports fan, Randy cheered faithfully for the Washington Redskins and the Baltimore Orioles. His Christian faith was central to his life—he was a faithful reader of the Bible and a member of Central Baptist Church.

Randy is survived by his cherished family: two sons, Kevin Randall Stratton and Christian Michael Stratton (Shannon), both of Concord; three grandchildren, Liam, Jace, and Rhys; his sister, Patsy S. Jordan (Tim); and his brother, Larry Stratton (Brenda).

A service celebrating his life and faith will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 15, 2025, at Whitten Monelison Chapel with Pastor Larry Fitzgerald officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Hill Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, August 14, 2025, at Whitten Monelison Chapel.
