Cameron Ty Diggs Obituary With heavy hearts, Keith & Ashley Diggs announce the passing of their beloved son, Cameron T. Diggs at the tender age of 20. Cameron passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Friday, October 11, 2024, following complications related to his cancer diagnosis in July of 2023.He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Alton S. Diggs; great grandparents, Dave “Papa” and Donna Abbott; great grandfather, Donny “Pap Pap” Brown; and great grandparents, Richard and Marie Fuller. Cameron grew up in Bedford, Va where he attended Staunton River High School and met his long-time girlfriend Jessika Williams (Jess). After graduating high school in 2022 with honors, he enlisted in the Navy to pursue his career as a submarine missile technician. Due to his diagnosis, he was relocated to Portsmouth VA, where he was treated and remained on active duty. He was an awesome son, the best big brother, and a one-of-a-kind friend. He was often referred to as an “old soul” with a passion for God, and a lover of cars, music, fishing, golf, and adventure. He found beauty in life’s simple moments & encouraged us all to do the same. Cameron brought so much joy and light into our lives with his genuine heart, radiant smile, & boundless curiosity. He walked through life with a gentle strength touching the lives of everyone he encountered with an unforgettable grace.Left to cherish his memory include parents, Keith and Ashely Diggs; brother, Colin Diggs; his furry brother, Link; uncle, Aaron Robertson (Elena); grandparents, Candace “Mimi” and Alan “Paw Paw” Fulcher; grandfather, Mark Robertson; great grandfather, Jay Williams; great grandmother, “Nana” Della Brown; longtime girlfriend, Jessika “Jess” Williams; special great uncle, Jerry Williams; very near and dear friend to our whole family, Tyler Miller; Cameron's special friends include, Blaine, Joey (DiRocco), Justin M, Evan, Zach C, Mason, Kole, Josh K, Bodie W, Nick D, Peyton D, Braxton, Abi, Nick K, Emily K, Austin, Chris H, Alex A, and Jason; as well as extended family members and special. The family would like to especially thank their friends, neighbors, the Westcott family, Cameron’s friends, and the United States Navy family along with the amazing caregivers/staff at Roanoke Memorial Hospital (10 mountain ICU and Palliative Care), Carilion Peds Oncology, Naval Medical Center Portsmouth and Connecticut Children’s Hospital.
