Carl E. Ingram

Carl E. Ingram 85, of Bassett, passed away Friday, September 16, 2022 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born September 11, 1937 in Franklin County, Virginia to the late Leonard and Martha Ingram. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a wife, Barbara Jean Ingram and infant daughter, Carla Jean Ingram.

Carl was a member of Blackberry Baptist Church and enjoyed working at the church before his health declined.

He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Carl loved being outdoors and working in the garden.

Carl is survived by his loving wife of   twenty- seven years; Ellen Stone Ingram; a daughter, Gwendolyn E. Handy (John); son, Gregory Edmonds (Carletta); grandchildren, William and Abigail Stone, Cory and Jonathan Edmonds, Brandon and Mary Handy; and a great grandson; Walker Edmonds. Five Sisters, Jean Stone, Iris Holley, Faye Dudley, Gerry Nester, and Gail Wright.  Two brothers; Harold and Ronnie Ingram and a host of nieces and nephews.

The Family will receive friends from 2:00 – 3:00 PM on Tuesday, September 20, 2022 at the Bassett Funeral Service Chapel. The funeral ceremony to follow at 3:00PM with Pastor Chad Janey officiating.  There will be a private burial for the family only to follow in the Hardy Cemetery in Bassett.

The family ask, that all monetary donations be made out to Blackberry Baptist Church’s Budget Fund in remembrance of Carl E. Ingram. 3241 Stones Dairy Rd.  Bassett, Virginia, 24055.
